ONE RIDE AT A TIME
A Climate Solution
Our nation is in desperate need of immediate action to mitigate the detrimental effects of climate change. Thankfully, the simple act of riding a bike, even just a couple times a week, can play a meaningful part in climate action.

At PeopleForBikes, we work to support policies, programs and incentives that recognize the power of the bicycle in reducing harmful carbon emissions and reaching climate resiliency goals.
There isn’t one magic silver bullet that will end climate change, but we know one thing: replacing car trips with bike rides is one small thing everyday people can do to help make a huge difference.

Simply put, when you ride a bike to work, school, see friends and family, pick up groceries or anything in between, you’re helping combat climate change — every mile counts. Start small! Just one ride at a time. Replace just a couple trips each week, and soon you’ll see just how easy it is to get out of your car and onto two wheels, having fun, getting outside and helping create a healthier planet along the way.

Every time you replace a car trip with a bike ride, record it on Ride Spot and see just how easy it is for small actions to make a big difference. Complete one of the Challenges to earn a reward for doing your part!

Every month, we’ll provide an update on the number of rides completed and miles ridden as part of the Great Climate Bike Challenge, showing how meaningful change is just a bike ride away.
